How do I find US-made products?

The question is finally getting more and more play in the market and sourcing your clothing and housewares in the US is showing the real promise of becoming easier.  While there is still much room for improvement (with the majority of bedding and clothing items largely made overseas), the media and bloggers are helping individuals connect with great companies and giving readers access to innovative new items.  Consumers are now able to enjoy product stories, details about their purchases, and learn more about the people behind them.

This month’s issue of Family Circle showcases “American All Stars.” Lori Slater of In2green was interviewed about designing green products in the USA and commented on how designers are finding inspiration in Americana motifs.  ShoptheFifty is a new blog that features a long list of innovative brands with selectively curated product stories from around the United States.  The strong focus this month on the Flag is not surprising given their emphasis on USA-made products.   Sites like Pinterest and Houzz also offer search features for USA product, as does two-year old USA Love List.  Check them out if you are looking for US Made home furnishing, apparel and novel accessories.
